Notes for Peace concert at the CSO Symphony Centre

As part of our ongoing partnership with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, our Artistic Director Sara Lee and ITT musician Rex Horan were proud to be part of a special concert in Chicago. The Negaunee Music Institute at the CSO and Purpose Over Pain commemorated six years of partnership in ‘A Notes for Peace Celebration’ on Tuesday 19th March. Notes for Peace is a project that empowers parents who have lost children to gun violence to honour their loved ones and process their grief through the act of composing original songs of tribute with the help of Civic Orchestra of Chicago Fellows and ITT’s Sara and Rex.

The inspiring performance at Symphony Centre, which marked the project’s 100-song milestone, brought together over 50 Notes for Peace families and included several guest vocalists, CSO Artist-in-Residence Hilary Hahn, families of Purpose Over Pain and conductor Kyle J. Dickson.
