We’re looking back more than 3 years to August 2012 and our first official Making Tracks project for young people in Lambeth. What a project it was!
One of our favourite songs from the packed out first performance was ‘Shine’ by Shallise aka Chainz – an amazing track about embracing opportunity, sung beautifully – give it a listen!
Making Tracks has been a huge learning curve for us, going from strength to strength, benefiting from a lot of feedback from the young people about what they want from the programme. They have not only created all the original songs that form the public performances, but been vital in shaping the programme. We’re very grateful to them and very proud of everything they’ve achieved.
To celebrate how far they and we have come, we’re running a special Making Tracks event on Thursday 26th November (7pm) at Pop Brixton (a fantastic new venue in Brixton with loads of exciting food and drink available).
Past participants from Making Tracks will perform songs they wrote on the projects and talk about their experiences of taking part.
It will be great, and we’d love you to join us to help celebrate!
The details are all here.
