Selected by Promenaders’ Musical Charities for Proms 2015 collections
Every year the Promenaders’ Musical Charities collect donations at the BBC Proms for selected charities. This weekend brought the very exciting news that we have been chosen as one of the charities to benefit, alongside Jessie’s Fund, CLIC Sargent and Help Musicians UK (Musicians Benevolent Fund).
Speaking about the news, our Artistic Director Sara Lee said:
“We’re very proud to have been chosen as one the Promenaders’ Musical Charities this year. The generosity of Proms goers will help us to support disadvantaged people to discover the transformative power of music through our Music in Prisons programme. It seems so appropriate that those who are passionate about music and have access to it will enable others who don’t to have this vital opportunity of skills development and self-discovery through creating music of their own. We hope that many of those enjoying the Proms this year will feel inspired by the wonderful array of music and make a donation to those kindly collecting on behalf of this year’s Promenaders’ Musical Charities.”
The full programme of Proms events and how to book is here. Huge thanks to the trustees of the Promenaders’ Musical Charities for selecting us this year.
