Making Tracks performance in March

As part of Making Tracks, our exciting programme of work in the community in partnership with The Prince’s Trust Fairbridge Programme, Kennington Centre, you are invited to join us to enjoy original music written and performed by NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people in Lambeth.

You can hear an examples of the high quality of original music created by the young people involved in Making Tracks here and see three short films made during a project here.

Over just 4 days, led by The Irene Taylor Trust’s project team, the young people taking part will learn how to play instruments, form a band and write their own original songs. The group will also be supported by a musician from our ex-prisoner programme Sounding Out.  After taking part in the 5-day intensive project, the young people will be given the opportunity to hone their new-found skills in twice-weekly follow-on sessions. Suitable progression routes and further development opportunities for the individual young people will be identified.

The project venue has been kindly provided by St Mark’s.

Bus

Take one of the following buses to the ‘Kennington Church’ stop:

Camberwell/Vauxhall/Victoria: 36, 185, 436
Clapham: 155
Brixton: 3, 59, 133, 159, 333
Elephant: 155, 133, 333
Waterloo: 59, 159

Train

Take the Northern Line to Oval. St Mark’s is directly opposite when you come out of the tube station.

You can also go to Vauxhall (Waterloo mainline and Victoria line) if you don’t mind a 10 minute walk!
