Sara to give Clinks seminar ‘Alternative Methods to Prison Resettlement’

Sara Lee speaks!

Artistic Director Sara is taking part in a special Clinks seminar ‘Alternative Methods to Prison Resettlement’ on October 27th in Birmingham.

Sara Lee Churchill reportSara will talk about what she learned from her Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship (see her final report here) alongside Andy Laidlaw, Head of Reducing Re-offending at HMP Risley.

Sara’s Travel Fellowship took her to the USA and Norway where she explored the role music can play in resettlement and crime prevention. She’ll be talking about her experiences and good practice that could be used in the UK.

Andy visited the USA as part of his Travel Fellowship to research the impact of effective mentoring on community safety and reducing re-offending. He discovered a plethora of examples of good practice and also some quite pioneering work in the most unlikely of places. He will talk about how what he learnt could translate to the current reform agenda in the UK.

Full details of the seminar including how to book are here.
